TRANSPARENCY
The act of intentionally baring our soul by showing our true self to the world.
We often hide a part of ourselves out of fear, judgment, rejection, competition, insecurities, social conditioning, and/or other human ego obstacles.
This is what I adore about aging and evolving; I’m much less concerned with expressing myself than I once was, without intentionally causing harm of course. I can recall times when I didn’t openly communicate in fear of disappointing or destroying someone else’s expectations of me. Well, fuck that.
Revealing our true inner self without hidden agendas or conditions invites a way of relating in a free, open exchange.
”Transparency means exposing vulnerabilities and fears, as well as desires and points of view about whatever issues you’re discussing. … It means openly encouraging others to express them to you.”
“Transparency brings whatever is wrong to light so that it can be corrected for the benefit of everyone.”
”Being transparent means letting it – all of it – pass through us. It means never holding on in the first place. When we can learn to do this, we remove the obstacles of ego that we ourselves create in our lives. We no longer find ourselves in our own way, but out of it. And being out of it we can be more authentically in it because there is no longer a barrier to authenticity – self-created or otherwise.”
I’m super grateful for stimulating, thought-provoking conversations that widely expand my usual ways of thinking and, with support, invite full self-expression.
