Why Meditate?

Years ago I was stuck in a rut. Something had to shift but at the time it was easier to bitch about external influences rather than take responsibility for my peace, happiness, and success. Isn’t that how it goes?

A dear friend continuously recommended meditation. “I can’t,” I complained. “It’s too hard to sit still and do nothing.” But doing nothing brings everything into perspective. What I thought was nothing empowered me so much more than the busy-ness of action.

Wise sages have known this since the beginning of time. We just have to remember the innate knowledge in which we are born. This returning to the Self.

I began with guided meditations which paved the path to sitting solo without any noise besides the occasional Eastern mantras, soothing Tibetan prayer bowls, or Native American flutes.

Over the years, and with lots of practice, I continue to improve in the art of quieting the mind, entering the heart space, and activating intuitive wisdom.

International travel, teachers, ceremonies, workshops and personal experience, like sitting on the banks of the Ganga in India, have continued to teach me to be at peace beyond the ego.

Meditation has improved every facet of my life. Creating moments to slip into total peace has become as important as food and shelter. The best I’ve ever felt has been the result of mind-altering meditations.

There are numerous articles on the benefits of meditation but for me, it’s a gift to myself, a way to center, reconnect to my higher mind, listen to the guidance of the heart, and release tensions built by over-thinking, which society encourages us to needlessly do.

Self care is a must on any path.

I’m now offering guided journeys to help you dissolve stress and stimulate your mental antennae for increased harmony, health, and wellness.
