Celebrating LOVE (my favorite thing)!
“Why is love so important to you? It is a wild, free-moving feeling that allows you to see who you are and to be profoundly moved by the great entity that you are. And whenever love is felt, it reminds you of the joy of being free and unlimited within your being.” ~Ramtha
We often attach the word love to romantic love. But what about love for life, for each breath we take; love for music that touches our hearts and food that fulfills our senses; love for our dreams and every moment that thrills and challenges us; love for our past, present, and future partners, for the earth and Her abundance, for new experiences and great books; love for our own soul’s inner wisdom and the beautiful beings that light up our world.
The more we love, the more open we are to love! Isn’t that exciting!
Krishna Das says, “Love is what we are; we don’t get it from somebody, we can’t give it to anybody, we can’t fall in it or fall out of it. Love is our true Being.”
The warm, fuzzy, inconvenient, distracting feelings of love have poured into my life since I was thirteen. Since then I’ve fallen in love and risen in love in ways I’ll always cherish. With gratitude for setting my heart on fire, I thank all my loves for helping me grow, for adoring me, challenging me, for revealing hidden, varied versions of myself, for breaking my heart (temporarily), for seeing and appreciating me, for driving me crazy and allowing me to drive them crazy, for both inspiring and crushing me, for teaching me how strong I am and for exposing my weaknesses, for holding space to learn about what I do and don’t want. The enriching experience of loving has brought as much joy as ever being loved. I honor not only my current love but all the people I’ve had the pleasure of loving.
“I feel there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.” ~Van Gogh
