After driving to a small town for provisions we headed back to our secluded riverside camp. The 20* drop in temperature wasn’t enough to prevent me from following a primal pull. As the rainstorm subsided, the seductive lure of sacred water invited me to merge with Her cool rejuvenating magic.
With wide eyes and a silly giggle, I couldn’t resist a profound, ancient gift Nature had clearly intended to generously share. I removed all man-made baggage covering my goose-bumped body then eased into the medicinal wet element while letting the rippling current float me downstream with a kind of joy that sparked satisfaction in the little girl inside that never let minor discomfort stop her from plunging into what she felt best.
Displaying a grin that illuminated the spirit and tingled receptive skin, I stood by the shore in awe as toasty rays of sun peeked through clouds permeating every sense receptor, reminding me how very remarkable it is to breathe life.
Water washed away any remnants of worry and fear as if the river Herself would not permit such ineffective concerns.
I humbly apologized to the flowing river for how we’ve allowed this great source of existence to become contaminated.
Having available access to water is a significant, fortunate luxury I don’t take lightly. Hoping humanity heals so clean water reaches the mouths and bodies of every sentient being.
Listening to our warm hearts over our annoyingly logical heads is truly life changing.
